Vinyasa yoga is the practice of linking your breath to fluid movement. In this practice, you will flow through different postures (asanas) and create balance throughout the body and mind. Vinyasa yoga is typically a faster paced class that can be physically challenging. Connect with your breath and look inward during this practice.
You might ask, what props are needed for a vinyasa class? Typically two yoga blocks and a d-ring strap is all you will need for this class. Also, using a blanket and placing it under your knees, elbows or back can be helpful for additional support.
Yin yoga consists of poses done on the floor that are held for about 3-7 minutes each. In yin yoga, you will focus on disengaging the body and mind. By relaxing the muscles in this practice, you are able to target the fascia, ligaments, and joints. No warm up is needed, so hop into your comfiest outfit and get ready to unwind.
What props are needed for yin yoga? In yin it is helpful to have two yoga blocks and a bolster for this practice. If you don't have a bolster, grab a few pillows or roll up a blanket instead.
